Three dimensional wall art. The pieces are sculpted, painted and in most cases incorporate found objects/ artifacts. This process is the growth of years of experimentation.
The artwork begins its life as a sketch. I tend to bend and stretch the subject to include a peripheral vision view which places the viewer in the piece.
The image is cut into acid free foam core, then pushed in, pulled out and otherwise constructed and layered in three dimensions.
Objects are incorporated into the piece. These are usually artifacts generated in day to day life, although they can be specific in adding context.
I create a full painting on top of the sculpted surface. When the piece tells me it's done I stop.
